Anemia At-Home Test Kit

$129.00

This specialized panel can detect if a person is anemic. Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells provide oxygen to body tissues. With insufficient oxygen delivery to your reproductive organs, a woman’s eggs may become poor in quality making conception near impossible.

Method:

Simple finger prick blood card collection

What does it test for?

Folate, Ferritin, Total Bilirubin

Folate: Folic Acid is a B Vitamin. The CDC urges all women of reproductive age to take 400(mcg) of folic acid daily in addition to consuming food with folate from a varied diet to help prevent some major birth defects of the baby’s brain (anencephaly) and spine (spina bifida). Overall, folic acid can have a powerful effect on female fertility, both before and after conception. For women who are struggling to conceive, folic acid can help prevent early pregnancy defects that can lead to miscarriage. Folate-deficiency anemia is a decrease in red blood cells due to a lack of folate.

Ferritin: Ferritin is a blood protein that contains iron. A ferritin test can reveal how much iron your body stores. If a ferritin test reveals that your blood ferritin level is lower than normal, it indicates your body's iron storage is low and you could be anemic. An iron deficiency has also been linked to infertility, miscarriages, low birth weight and preterm labor.

Total Bilirubin: This test is used to help check on the health of your liver. A high level of bilirubin may indicate liver disease, which can affect fertility. High levels of bilirubin may also indicate hemolytic anemia.

A portion of our revenue from each test will be donated to fertility research and support.
